Greetings! Today, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite dishes - Ghee Paratha! This dish is perfect for those days when you’re craving some delicious bread that’s easy to make and goes well with pretty much anything.

First Things First - What is Ghee?

If you’re not familiar with ghee, it’s essentially a type of clarified butter that has been simmered to remove all the water content and milk solids. This process results in a creamy, nutty, and flavorful oil that’s perfect for cooking.

The Recipe

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious dish:

  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 cup of ghee
  • Water (as needed)

Let’s get started!

  1. Mix the wheat flour and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the ghee to the mixture.
  3. Mix the ingredients together until they resemble coarse crumbs.
  4. Slowly add water to the mixture while kneading it together until it forms a smooth dough.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for at least 20 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into 6-8 portions (depending on how large you want your parathas).
  7. Roll out each portion of dough into a thin, round shape.
  8. Heat a flat skillet or griddle on medium-high heat.
  9. Cook the paratha on the skillet and flip it over when it starts to bubble slightly.
  10. Cook the other side until it’s golden brown and slightly crispy.
  11. Repeat this process with the remaining portions of dough.
  12. Enjoy your delicious ghee parathas with your favorite chutney or curry!
